Mohammed Meouakâs study is very interesting because it manages, through its meticulous research, to shed light not only on the historical development of the Berber language during the Middle Ages but also on the different ways this language was viewed, understood and contained by the great Medieval Islamic savants. I believe that La langue berbère au Maghreb medieval â Textes, contexts, analyses is destined to become a classic in the domain of the Berber language and civilization studies.
