Sverkos and Tsolakis provide a guide to the inscriptions published, mentioned, or discussed in the volumes XLVI â LX (1996 â 2010) of Supplementum Epigraphicum Graecum for scholars and students of Greek epigraphy. The Consolidated Concordances is a catalogue of references to inscriptions and their respective occurrences in the entries of SEG. By using this volume, the readers can find the corresponding entries of SEG where the first edition or later studies of inscriptions of their interest are presented. Moreover, Tsolakis has collected and compiled the epigraphic abbreviations both those used in SEG since volume XXVI and those included the âListe des abréviations des éditions et ouvrages de référence pour l'épigraphie grecque alphabétiqueâ (GrEpiAbbr).
Elias Sverkos, Ph.D. (1997), Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, is an Associate Professor at that university. His main research interests concern the social and political history of Greek cities (especially of Macedonia) during the Hellenistic and Imperial times. He has published books and articles on the Roman institutions in the eastern Mediterranean, Roman prosopography and onomastics, and Greek and Latin epigraphy.
Georgios Tsolakis is a Ph.D. candidate at the Institute for the Study of the Ancient World, New York University. He is working on his dissertation âAncestors and Family Traditions in Hellenistic and Imperial Polisâ where he is examining how, when, and why the Greeks were referring to their ancestral and familial past. Tsolakis has held an Onassis Foundation - Scholarship and a NYU Digital Humanities Graduate Student Summer Fellowship; he has received the Géza Alföldy Stipend 2016/17 by the Association Internationale dâÃpigraphie Grecque et Latine.
