Brian DeMare, Ph.D. (2007) is Professor of History at Tulane University. His published works include Tiger, Tyrant, Bandit, Businessman: Echoes of Counterrevolution from New China (Stanford, 2022), Land Wars: The Story of Chinaâs Agrarian Revolution (Stanford, 2019), and Maoâs Cultural Army: Drama Troupes in Chinaâs Rural Revolution (Cambridge, 2015).
