Robert Bonfil is professor emeritus of Medieval and Renaissance Jewish History at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel. He has published extensively on Medieval and Renaissance Jewish History in Italy, including Jewish Life in Renaissance Italy (University of California Press, 1994).
