Cet article explore la genèse et la portée littéraire, historique et génétique de la préface rédigée par Simone de Beauvoir pour La Bâtarde de Violette Leduc, récemment réapparue dans le fonds de lâIMEC. Lâétude montre comment ce texte inédit, longtemps conservé par la dactylographe de Beauvoir, éclaire sous un nouveau jour la relation complexe de «â¯â¯marrainage littéraireâ¯Â» qui unit les deux écrivaines. En retraçant les précédentes interventions de Beauvoir en faveur de Leduc â notamment la préface inédite à Les Boutons dorés et le prière dâinsérer de Trésors à prendre â lâarticle met en évidence un accompagnement constant, à la fois affectif et stratégique, dans la construction de la figure dâautrice de Leduc. Lâanalyse du manuscrit de La Bâtarde révèle enfin les tensions entre dépendance et autonomie créatrice, rendant visible la dimension genrée et située de cette collaboration littéraire. Lâarticle sâaccompagne de la transcription du manuscrit et de la reproduction dâun feuillet.
Abstract
This article explores the genesis as well as the literary, historical, and genetic significance of the preface written by Simone de Beauvoir for La Bâtarde by Violette Leduc, recently rediscovered in the archives of the Institut Mémoires de lâédition contemporaine (IMEC). The study demonstrates how this previously unpublished text â long preserved by Beauvoirâs typist â casts new light on the complex relationship of âliterary sponsorshipâ that bound the two writers together. By retracing Beauvoirâs earlier interventions on Leducâs behalf â most notably the unpublished preface to Les Boutons dorés and the publisherâs blurb for Trésors à prendre â the article highlights a sustained form of support, both affective and strategic, in the construction of Leducâs authorial persona. Finally, the analysis of the La Bâtarde manuscript reveals the tensions between dependency and creative autonomy, bringing into view the gendered dimension of this literary collaboration. The article is accompanied by a transcription of the manuscript and the reproduction of a folio.
