Abstract
In the light of the current emphasis on interdisciplinary research as well as the religious nature of the New Testament documents it becomes not only possible but also meaningful for a New Testament scholar to pay some attention to modern religious works of literature. This article looks at the way in which the religious quest is dealt with in Patrick White's 'Riders in the chariot'.
