This study aims to explain the integral roles and contributions of women in the Local Church movement. It highlights the significant influences and dedication of prominent women who have been integral to the Local Church’s development since its beginnings in the early twentieth century. However, due to the Local Church’s exclusive ecclesiology, which is characterized by male-dominated lay leadership and adherence to Watchman Nee’s theological interpretations, any attempt to restore gender equality and recognize women’s contributions will meet with staunch resistance. The analysis and facts in this article will enrich the global church with a more authentic and comprehensive understanding of the Local Church movement, which has already attained a global presence in the twenty-first century.
