Editor's Notes 1. Over one hundred states have accorded the PLO de jure recognition as the sole legitimate representative of the Palestinian people. The list shows only those countries in which the PLO maintains a permanent diplomatic mission or a resident representative. The PLO diplomatic missions have been granted the same diplomat- ic privileges that are accorded missions of sovereign states and to the same extent as the latters' level or representation. The PLO has observer status at the United Nations (New York and Geneva); UNESCO (Paris); and UNIDO (Vienna). In general, see, Kassim, The Palestine Liberation Organization's Claim to Status: A Juridical Analysis Under International Law 9 Denv. J. Int'l L & Poly 1 (1980). See, supra at 182. See also for an argument of some interest on the PLO status, Hanoch Tel-Oren et al. vs Libyan Arab Republic et al. ILM, Mar. 1985 at 370.
