Abstract

Frank Macchia's Baptized in the Spirit is a distinctive and highly significant contribution to the project of re-thinking theology from a Pentecostal perspective. He redefines Spirit-baptism in terms of the love of God that renews, sanctifies, and empowers, and uses it to integrate a wide range of theological emphases and movements, as well as to explore the Trinity, ecclesiology, and soteriology. While the book raises a number of questions, this is due to its theological richness rather than to any deficiencies.
