Abstract

This response to Clark Pinnock’s proposal for Pentecostal ecclesiology appreciates the affirming and promising directions that have been offered. Yet the respondent also recognizes the many significant ecclesiological contributions in the early practice, polity, and literature of the Pentecostal movement that have not been sufficiently acknowledged due to their being manifest in forms other than those of formal academic theology—a fact that should not be allowed to diminish recognition of their ecclesiological import and impact.
