In this article, I examine the remarkable and ongoing growth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in Iran, interpreting this spiritual awakening through the lens of the ancient and transformative journey of the Magi â Persian seekers who undertook a prophetic pilgrimage to honor the newborn King, Jesus Christ. As the first recorded Iranians and the first non-Jews to worship Jesus Christ, the Magi can be seen as early Persian seekers of Christ, prophetically planting seeds of faith in the Zoroastrian heartland â seeds that, though long dormant, are now re-emerging. This article argues that this present-day spiritual awakening reflects not only a response to internal religious and social pressures, but also a profound re-engagement with a forgotten Christian heritage deeply woven into the spiritual fabric of ancient Persia.
