Abstract

The article addresses the project “Rosary Unites” of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (UGCC) to understand recent changes in religious practices, religious identity, and communication policy of the minority church during the war in Ukraine. The UGCC attempts to reproduce the communication policies of the Catholic Church, so it inevitably enacts its religious practices into Greek Catholic tradition. During the war, the UGCC, as a minority church, uses digital media to be more visible in the public realm: to address and bind all people of Ukraine regardless of their religious self-identification. As a result, online rosary prayer serves as the expression of Ukrainian identity, solidarity, national unity, and resilience in a time of war.
