Abstract

The diversity of Qur’anic manuscripts has emerged as a response to societal needs, including the Colored Tajweed Qur’an. However, its availability remains limited in rural areas. This study examines the role of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta in preserving the Colored Tajweed Qur’an in Priangan Timur. This research employs a qualitative method using library and field research data sources. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation using snowball sampling. The data were analyzed using Bruce J. Biddle’s role theory. The findings indicate that UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta plays a significant role in promoting and teaching the Colored Tajweed Qur’an, particularly in East Priangan (Priangan Timur). However, its efforts have not been fully optimized. The university can enhance its involvement by engaging alumni serving as preachers and Qur’an teachers to preserve the Colored Tajweed Qur’an. Additionally, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta can collaborate with government and private institutions to facilitate the provision of the Colored Tajweed Qur’an, establish connections with the local Grand Mosque, and develop foster villages or cities dedicated to teaching the Colored Tajweed Qur’an.
