Two species of Culicoides from Sinai are described. Culicoides catharinae sp. nov. differs from other species of the subgenus Pontoculicoides in the size and shape of the spermathecae. Culicoides navaiae Lane, 1983, a member of the subgenus Beltrarunyia, is redescribed. It differs from its relatives by being smaller than C. homochrous and C. toyamaruae and by the pale spotted wing which also distinguishes it from the other two.
