Activity patterns measured by vertical movement (VM) in laboratory aquaria were higher in the marine gastropod Monodonta turbinata than in M. turbiformis at 20–36°C. Higher temperatures induced increase VM values for both species, in particular for M. turbinata, which reached 0.95 VM at 31–36°C. We suggest that the differential temperature-dependent activity patterns found may be related to the different ecological niches of these two species.
