This paper presents a new species, Salmo platycephalus Behnke, in Asia Minor, and notes new localities for some species of freshwater fish. The importance of these findings for the understanding of the history of Asia Minor freshwater fish is discussed. Stream capturing is shown to be an important factor for the distribution of these originally southern species in large regions of Asia Minor.
