The distribution of chironomid lavae in the different zones of Lake Tiberias was studied. The stomach contents of 10 fish species (322 specimens) were examined for chironomid larvae. The larvae were counted, identified and compared with their distribution in the Lake. It was found that during all months of the year, Barbus longiceps C.V. and Cyprinus carpio L. feed to a great extent on larvae living on the sandy and muddy bottom of the Lake. Acanthobrama terrae-sanctae Steinitz feeds on them in the spring only. Varicorhinus damascinus (C.V.) feeds to a small extent on chironomid larvae living on rocks in the littoral zone. In Tilapia zillii (Gervais) only few larvae were found, but in many specimens there were remnants of a large number of adults and pupae caught from the surface of the Lake.
