Abstract
The article examines an obscure phrase in Azari, attested in RaudÄt al-jinÄn wa jannÄt al-jinÄn by the 16th century Iranian historiographer HÄfiz Husayn KarbalÄy Ä« -TabrÄ«zÄ«. The author makes an attempt to restore the original text and to newly translate the phrase, which is in fact a cursing formula.
