Caucasus Survey is a peer-reviewed, multidisciplinary journal, publishing triannually and concerned with social science research into the contemporary Caucasus: the North Caucasian republics and regions of the Russian Federation; the independent states of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia; contemporary and historical unrecognized or semi-recognized republics in the Caucasus; the autonomous republic of Kalmykia, the southern regions of Russia neighbouring the Caucasus and selected issues relating to the Black Sea and Caspian regions; as well as relevant issues relating to the Cossacks, the Meskhetian Turks, Nogais and Caucasian diasporas in Turkey, Russia, the Middle East, Europe and the Americas. Caucasus Survey publishes research about the Caucasus in the fields of modern history, political science, anthropology, cultural and religious studies, political economy, human geography, conflict and peace studies, and sociology. Research covering Caucasus-related dimensions of Middle Eastern and European politics, society, culture and history also fall within the remit of the journal. Caucasus Survey publishes original research articles, research notes, review articles, archive documents and book reviews. The journal welcomes proposals from guest editors for special issues and sections.
