This paper focuses on the vowel raising of the Zhi group ç¥ç³» initials of Kaikou éå£ rime of Xian-she 叿 and Shan-she å±±æ final groups in Huaiyue dialects of Gan, of which the finals are pronounced as Én or en. The vowel raising of the 3rd degree of Zhi ç¥ä¸ and Zhang ç« group initials of Kaikou éå£ rime of Xian-she 叿 and Shan-she å±±æ final groups in the southeast Chinese dialects can be classified into 3 categories: Min-yue é©ç²µ type, Wu-xiang 峿¹ type and Hakka-gan å®¢è´ type. The vowel raising of Huaiyue dialects of Gan belongs to Hakka-gan å®¢è´ type, and it was from the early Gan dialect of Hongwu æ´ªæ¦ immigration period. Furthermore, the phenomenon of the vowel raising of the 3rd degree of Zhi ç¥ä¸ and Zhang ç« group initials of Kaikou éå£ rime of Xian-she 叿 and Shan-she å±±æ final groups in Hakka-gan å®¢è´ dialects can be traced back to the Tang and Song dynasties.
