Abstract

A common problem in the teaching of traditional Chinese culture today is insufficient concern for the children and the failure to make what is taught relevant to their life experiences. Well aware of the controversies about what to teach, how to teach, and to what ends, I propose a child-oriented approach to teaching traditional Chinese culture that is suitable for the 21st century. It is not only age-appropriate, but it also responds to the needs of the time we live in and has a global outlook. Its main aims are to build moral character, shape cultural identity, and instill a love of country.
