First of all, we are appreciative to the authors of the texts included in the book who have cooperated with the journal Culture-History-Globalization for years contributing to the development of global studies in Poland and East Central Europe. As the editors we feel indebted to Prof. Adam Nobis the chair of the Department of Globalization and Communication at the Institute of Cultural Studies at Wrocław University and the organizer of the seminar on globalization who initiated and was a driving force of the journal Culture-History-Globalization.
