Abidemi Fasanmi
is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in the Department of Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies at Emory University, in Atlanta, Georgia, U.S.A. Her interests are in the areas of Gender Violence, Bio-politics, Religion and Health, particularly in Africa.
René Hirsch
is an independent researcher who lives and works in The Netherlands. He is the author of the book The Masculine Civilization, and of various papers including ‘Procreative Knowledge, Gender Roles, and Beliefs: Past and Present Parallels,’ ‘The Codes of Law and the Establishment of a Procreative Monopoly,’ and ‘Sex and Procreation in the Primitive World.’
Elene Lam
is a Ph.D. student at McMaster University, in Social Work. She is one of the founders and the Director of Butterfly, the Asian and Migrant Sex Workers Support Network in Canada, and co-director of the Migrant Sex Workers Project in Toronto. She has been involved in the sex work, migrant, and labour rights movement for more than 15 years. Ms. Lam has been a lecturer and course coordinator at colleges and universities. She is an accredited mediator and certified as a sex therapist.
Jaclyn Lanthier
is a Philosophy graduate student affiliated with the University of Western Ontario, in London, Ontario, Canada. Her area of interest and research is on methodological issues and the epistemic status of claims in cognitive neuroscience.
Todd G. Morrison
is a professor of Social Psychology at the University of Saskatchewan, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. He specializes in gay and lesbian psychology, body image, prejudice, discrimination, masculinity, and psychometrics. Morrison’s research has appeared in various peer-reviewed journals including Pain, Psychology of Men and Masculinity, Sexuality & Culture, Journal of Health Psychology, and the Journal of Homosexuality.
Nick J. Mulé
is an associate professor at the School of Social Work and seconded to teach in Sexuality Studies at the School of Gender, Sexuality and Women’s Studies both in the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Professional Studies at York University, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He is the founder and former chairperson of Queer Ontario and a psychotherapist in private practice serving the lgbt communities in Toronto.
Elly-Jean Nielsen
is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Psychology at the University of Saskatchewan, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. Her research interests include sexual diversity, queer identities, expressions of experience through art forms, and qualitative methodologies. Nielsen has published in various peer-reviewed journals including Psychology & Sexuality, Psychology of Men and Masculinity, The Counseling Psychologist, and the Journal of Lesbian Studies.
Serena Petrella
is an associate professor in Sociology and in Gender and Women’s Studies at Brandon University, in Brandon, Manitoba, Canada. She specializes in sexuality, the evolution of relational norms and sexual regulation in the Law. She has been particularly engaged in exploring how the Canadian Judicial Systems deals with polygamy and polyamory.
Olivia Schuman
is completing her Ph.D in Philosophy at York University in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Her research focuses on bioethics, especially on issues related to gamete donation and the “right to know” one’s gamete donor. She is also interested in genetics, autonomy and reproductive freedom.
Deww Zhang
is currently doing a PhD on bdsm in Auckland at the University of Auckland, in Auckland, New Zealand. Her research focuses on bdsm communities and erotic dissidence.
