Worldwide there are many thoughts and theories regarding ideas of revenge and concepts of witchcraft. While most societies see these as two separate entities for many African countries the two are synonymous and have a major impact on all aspects of their lives. I examine these two concepts individually and then look at the links between these and the ways in which both are manifested in daily life. I go on to ask what this means for a population which acknowledges such concepts, and examine more closely the various societies and their interpretation of what constitutes revenge and what is witchcraft, to facilitate a greater understanding of how this affects their lives and why this knowledge is of importance for all who have dealings with them.
