Md Jahid Hossain Bhuiyan
is Associate Professor at the Department of Law & Justice, Southeast University, Bangladesh and a postdoctoral fellow in the Faculty of Law, North-West University, RSA. He was a visiting scholar at the University of Oxford, UK; Cardiff University, UK; Emory University, usa; and University of British Columbia, Canada. He holds a PhD in law from the University of Queensland, Australia and an llm from Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Belgium. He has recently co-edited International Natural Resources Law, Investment and Sustainability (Routledge, 2017), International Trade Law and the WTO (Federation Press, 2013), An Introduction to International Refugee Law (brill, Martinus Nijhoff Publishers, 2013), Globalization, International Law, and Human Rights (Oxford University Press, 2012) and Routledge Handbook of International Environmental Law (Routledge, 2012), An Introduction to International Human Rights Law (BRILL, Martinus Nijhoff Publishers, 2010), International Humanitarian Law –An Anthropology (LexisNexis Butterworths, 2009) amongst other scholarly books.
Borhan Uddin Khan
is currently a Professor in the Department of Law, University of Dhaka and an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Law, Independent University, Bangladesh (iub). He is a former Dean of the Faculty of Law, University of Dhaka (2006–2010). He holds an LL.M. in Public International Law from the London School of Economics and Political Science (lse), University of London and Ph.D. from the School of Oriental and African Studies (soas), University of London. After obtaining LL.B. (Hons.) and LL.M. from the University of Dhaka, he joined the same University as a Lecturer in 1989. In order to pursue higher studies research, he has in the past, among others, availed of Commonwealth Scholarship, British Council Fellowship, UN/unitar Fellowship in Public International Law and Scholarship from The Hague Academy of International Law. Khan is currently a member of the Board of Advisors of Asian Society of International Law and member of the Editorial Board of the Asian Journal of International Law. He is a founder member and a former Vice President of the Asian Society of International Law. He is the founder President of the Bangladesh Chapter of the Asian Society of International Law. He has to his credit several books such as Protection of Minorities: Regimes, Norms and Issues in South Asia (Cambridge Scholars Publishing, 2012) and articles published in reputed Journals. His areas of interest include International Human Rights and Humanitarian Law, Legislative Drafting and Codification of Laws. As a consultant to the Ministry of Law Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Bangladesh, he codified the Laws of Bangladesh (1939–2005), published in 2007 as The Bangladesh Code (Vols. 9 to 36).
