Sue Beckingham
For over a decade Sue has led Faculty Learning and Teaching Conferences and contributed to University wide events e.g. the international ‘Social Media for Learning in Higher Education Conference’. She is a passionate advocate of social media pre/during/post conference to build community and conversations, and also to openly share valuable resources.
Fiona Campbell
Fiona says: I love conferences! Over many years I created, designed, contributed to and participated in a range of institutional, national and international conferences. As Co-Chair of the UK Staff and Educational Development Association Conference Committee, I had the good fortune to work with Celia to plan and deliver sectoral conferences. We also jointly conducted a funded international research project focused on the conference participant experience and the findings of that work have informed this book.
Alice L. E. V. Cassidy
Principal, In View Educational Development. Alice has been a presenter, keynote, field excursion leader and organizer at over 20 conferences since 1983. Serving as Vice-chair, Professional Development, EDC, 2006–2010, she created a conference handbook. She values working with students as co-scholars, networking and modeling sustainability by bringing her own dishes.
Beverley Hamilton
Academic Initiatives Officer in the Office of the Provost at the University of Windsor. Bev has contributed to the development, conceptualization, organization, and facilitation of national and international conferences and forums focused on the individual and systemic enhancement of teaching and learning.
Erika Kustra
Director, Teaching and Learning Development, Centre for Teaching and Learning, University of Windsor. Erika is the Chair of the Canadian Educational Developers Caucus. Over 20 years in educational development, Erika has helped organize national and international conferences with her colleagues, exploring approaches to enhance impact for participants and for larger culture change.
Celia Popovic
Director of the Teaching Commons at York University, Celia has had many years’ experience organizing and attending conferences. She served as the co-chair conferences for SEDA (Staff and Educational Development Association) for 3 years and most recently was elected for a second term as Vice Chair Conferences for EDC (Educational Developers’ Caucus).
Jessica Raffoul
is an Educational Consultant with the Centre for Teaching and Learning at the University of Windsor, Canada. Here, she contributes to and enhances research, programmes, and curricula that support teaching and student learning, and has been a member of organizing committees for local, national, and international conferences.
Mary Wilson
Director of the Centre for Academic Excellence at Niagara College. She holds a Doctorate in Education from OISE/UT and is interested in the history of post-secondary curriculum development, and the theory and practice of post-secondary curriculum reform. She values conferences as a rich source of professional learning.
