This paper reports on developments in Arctic navigation since the Virginia conference held June 26–27, 2014 in Bergen, Norway. The paper briefly reviews the developments after Bergen in 2014 reported in the proceedings of the Bergen conference and details the work of the imo and others to the first half of 2016 on the International Code for Ships Operating in Polar Waters (Polar Code).
