This chapter is about my experience as a teacher of Arabic language in a men’s prison in France. The first part refers to the problematic question of identity in the case of French prisoners of North African origin. In the second part I present briefly my course and my method of teaching. The second part describes the conditions of work in prison. In the last part, I give my personal point of view about teaching in prison throughout my own experience.
