Abstract

Using Fulke Greville's Dedication to Sir Philip Sidney as a case study, this article compares and contrasts the virtues of printed and digital editions, and argues polemically that despite the obvious advantages of the digital medium, the printed printed scholarly edition still has a place in humanistic scholarship. It explicitly asks what editors can learn from digital editing that can be fruitfully applied to the printed edition.
