As human beings, we experience uncertainty in numerous ways and about many matters. In this engaging book, Yair Neuman argues that fiction, including stories, books, movies, and television, can provide a lens through which to view this universal human experience. Through analysis of a broad range of works such as No Country for Old Men, The Dice Man, the TV show “Don’t Mess with Mr. In-Between,” the biblical Book of Jonah, and selections from the Talmud, Neuman draws us to a deeper understanding of uncertainty both with regard to our human endeavours and to the concept of God.
