Note on References
Works are cited according to the date of publication. If a subsequent edition is used, the date of the first edition is given as well. All translations, when the corresponding English translation is not indicated in square brackets, are by the present writer; sometimes an existing English translation has been tacitly modified. In some cases, specifically for sources, the original text is given in footnotes. Meinongâs works are cited from the Alexius Meinong Gesamtausgabe; where (as in volumes iii, v and vii) a double pagination is indicatedâthat of the original publications and, at the bottom of the page in parentheses, that of the volumeâthe page number of the latter is always given.
Texts without an editor such as the Jahresberichte des Lesevereines der deutschen Studenten Wienâs, the Jahres-Berichte über das k. k. akademische Gymnasium in Wien, the Geschichte der Wiener Universität von 1848 bis 1898, the Arbitrage de lâAlabama: Genève 1782â1972, are cited with the title and page number, while full references appear in the Bibliography; only newspaper articles that appeared anonymously are cited in footnotes with full references. Anonymous or unedited texts are arranged in the Bibliography under their respective titles. Some of Meinongâs texts have an editorial title in angle brackets.
