This book covers the history of Italian Protestantism from 1800 forward for over 200 years. As a consequence, categories such as ‘Protestantism’ and ‘Roman Catholic Church’, are to be found referred to throughout the book – and as a consequence the references in this Index are to specific cases. Specialist notes have been provided in the Glossary. Italian town and location names are gathered under their regions; religious bodies under their broad movement names (such as ‘Methodism’, ‘Waldensian Church’, etc.) unless otherwise marked. Countries are listed separarely, including (given the fact that some of the material in this volume pre-dates the Union), those countries making up the United Kingdom.
