A Note on Hebrew Transliteration
In this book, two different transliteration methods are employed in order to provide the most faithful representations of the original sources. I have transliterated vocalized and non-vocalized names in different ways:
-
Names with added vowel points have been transliterated following Brill’s “Hebrew: A simple transliteration system.”1
-
Names without vowel points have been transliterated following Brill’s “Scholarly transliteration of biblical Hebrew,” with capitalization of the names.2
-
Names transliterated in a source may also appear in their original forms in the discussions, with indications of the source in question.
