The Hanyu Pinyin system of romanization has been used throughout this book, except in the legal cases or principles which are adjudicated in the common law jurisdictions such as Hong Kong, Singapore or Malaya, where Cantonese has been used.
A Chinese glossary is provided at the end of this book, which gives the Chinese characters with relevant Pinyin, Cantonese, Hakka and Japanese spelling.
