It has been a great pleasure for us to work on the edition of John Buridan’s Quaestiones Physicorum. In particular, our collaboration with Edith D. Sylla has been a privilege for both of us. We deeply regret that we have not been able to complete the project as we started it: as a joint enterprise with Edith. We sincerely hope the present volume, not only the edition but also the Introduction and in particular the Guide to the Text, meet her high standards of scholarship and rigor. We dedicate this volume to her memory.
