Darius Amilevičius
is an associate professor at the Department of Informatics of Vytautas Magnus University and the head and chief researcher of the Machine Learning for Language research group at the Institute of Digital Resources and Interdisciplinary Research of Vytautas Magnus University. With over 20 years of experience in research and teaching, he is a member-supporter of Confederation of Laboratories for Artificial Intelligence research in Europe (claire), an expert of the Research Council of Lithuania, and a member of European ai Alliance and clarin eric. From 2017–2020, he served as an expert on the ai Think-Tank of the Ministry of Economics of Lithuania. His research interests cover artificial intelligence technologies and natural language technologies. He has extensive experience in developing and managing collaborative projects, including those funded by European Structural Funds, and has authored or co-authored over 25 scientific publications over the past 10 years.
Paulius Astromskis
is a technology lawyer, academic, and presenter with expertise in delivering legal solutions for clients across multiple tech sectors. He specializes in addressing corporate and compliance concerns for FinTech companies. His current research focuses on exploring technological solutions to legal challenges, regulating artificial intelligence, and examining the future of legal education.
Tomas Berkmanas
is an associate professor at the Faculty of Law of Vytautas Magnus University in Kaunas, Lithuania. His areas of specialization include legal philosophy and theory, constitutional law, professional ethics, and legal education. He served as the head of the Department of Private Law from 2008 until 2011, as the Vice-Dean for Research from 2011 until 2015, and as the dean of the Faculty of Law from 2015 until 2020. Tomas Berkmanas is the founder and Senior Editor of the Baltic Journal of Law & Politics, an expert of the Lithuanian Research Council, and a participant in various research and infrastructural projects. He is also an author of numerous journal and book articles and conference presentations.

Vladislav V. Fomin
is a Distinguished Professor at the Kaunas Faculty of Vilnius University and a visiting professor at the Faculty of Computing of the University of Latvia. Since earning his PhD degree in 2001 from the University of Jyväskylä in Finland, Vladislav Fomin has held academic positions at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Copenhagen Business School, Delft University of Technology, Montpellier Business School, Rotterdam School of Management, and Vytautas Magnus University in Lithuania. In 2021, Vladislav was Fulbright Research Scholar at the Weatherhead School of Management, Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, oh. Prof. Fomin has authored over 100 scientific publications in journals, conferences, and as book chapters, including Information Systems Research, Academy of Management Proceedings, Technology Forecasting and Social Change, Journal of Strategic Information Systems, Communications of the Association for Information Systems, International Journal of it Standards & Standardization Research, Telecommunications Policy, Knowledge, Technology & Policy. His conference publications and presentations include Academy of Management, The International Conference on Information Systems, European Conference on Information systems, Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences, and others.
John-Stewart Gordon
is an adjunct professor at lsmu in Kaunas, Lithuania (since 2022). Before, he was a full professor of philosophy (2015–2022), chief researcher at the Faculty of Law (2018–2022), founder and head of the Research Cluster for Applied Ethics (2016–2022), and principal investigator of the EU-funded research project “Integration Study on Future Law, Ethics, and Smart Technologies” (2017–2022) at Vytautas Magnus University in Kaunas, Lithuania. Edita Gruodytė
is a tenured professor and Vice-Dean for Research at the Faculty of Law in Vytautas Magnus University. She has also worked as an attorney at law for 15 years. With over 20 years of experience in participating in various national and international projects, scientific activities, and research, she has been a member of several public bodies, including the Permanent Commission for the Assessment of Activities of Judges, prosecutors’ ethical commission, eclan (European Criminal Law Academic Network), and prosecutors’ attestation committee. She is also an editor of the Scopus journal Baltic Journal of Law and Politics and the chief editor of the legal journal Law Review/Teisės apžvalga. Professor Gruodytė is the author or co-author of various books and scientific articles and has successful experience in supervising PhD students. Her research interests include national and European criminal law and procedure, human rights, legal ethics and professionalism, and law and technologies.
Julija Kiršienė
is the Vice-Rector for Research at Vytautas Magnus University. She is also a professor in the Department of Private Law. She has served as a member of several public bodies, including the Judicial Court of Honor at National Courts Administration of Lithuania, Management Board of European Union Fundamental Rights Agency (fra), and as the chairperson of the board of Kaunas Science and Technology Park. She is the author and co-author of more than 50 scientific articles and books. Her research interests include contract law, tort law, law and technologies, legal ethics and professionalism, and human rights.

Karolis Kubilevičius
is a PhD candidate at the Faculty of Law at Vytautas Magnus University in Kaunas, Lithuania. His research interests include constitutional law, human right law, technology law, and European Union law. As a legal practitioner, he also specializes in civil law. Karolis has authored and co-authored various scientific articles and has experience as a lecturer and participant of various research initiatives.
Giedrė Kvedaravičienė
emba, is a health innovation expert with an interest in economic and applied ethics research and advocacy. She is an alumna of the USA government funded ivlp program (2008), a Fulbright grantee (2022) at the Johns Hopkins University, and a PhD candidate in economics at Vytautas Magnus University. With extensive professional experience in healthcare, Ms. Kvedaravičienė has held top-level management positions in private healthcare and has worked in public affairs and government relations. She has represented the global medical device industry as Digital Health Director at cocir in EU-level policy making. Ms. Kvedaravičienė has also served as a board member and vice-chair of the American Chamber of Commerce in Lithuania from 2008 to 2022, leading the Life Sciences and Health Committee at AmCham Lithuania. She continues to support young professionals as a mentor in the Enterprise Lithuania and mita (Agency for Science, Innovation and Technology) programs in Lithuania.
Kęstutis Mosakas
is a junior researcher at the Faculty of Law of Vytautas Magnus University. He also worked as a junior researcher in the EU-funded research project “Integration study on Future Law, Ethics, and Smart Technologies” (2018–2022), was the research assistant of the Research Cluster for Applied Ethics (vmu, 2017–2023), and taught classes on applied ethics and philosophy of technology (vmu). Since 2023, he has been an associate editorial board member for the journal ai & Society. Kęstutis holds a bachelor’s degree in English philology (2013, vmu), master’s degree in practical philosophy (2017, vmu), and a PhD in philosophy (2023, vmu). His main fields of research are applied ethics and ethics of technology (moral status and rights of robots in particular), with his secondary areas of interest being meta-ethics, philosophy of mind, and philosophy of religion.
is Professor of the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. He is also an associate editor of the journal Science and Engineering Ethics. Before taking up his current position in Germany, Nyholm worked for several years in the Netherlands. He was born in Sweden in 1981, studied philosophy and musicology at Lund University, and then completed his PhD at the University of Michigan in the USA. Nyholm’s research covers a wide range of topics within ethics and applied ethics. His articles have appeared in general philosophy journals, bioethics journals, and technology ethics journals. He is the author of three books: Revisiting Kant’s Universal Law and Humanity Formulas (De Gruyter, 2015), Humans and Robots: Ethics, Agency, and Anthropomorphism (Rowman & Littlefield, 2020), and This is Technology Ethics: An Introduction (Wiley-Blackwell, 2023).
Aušrinė Pasvenskienė
is the vice-dean of the Faculty of Law at Vytautas Magnus University (vmu). She is an associate professor and researcher at the vmu Faculty of Law and Education Academy and an expert at the European Association of Education Law and Policy (Antwerp, Belgium). Her research interests include law and technologies, fintech, education technologies, education law, and human rights in education.
Adam Poulsen
is a research fellow and computer scientist at the University of Sydney in New South Wales, Australia. His research covers human-computer interaction, co-design, diversity and inclusion, vulnerable communities, applied ethics, and healthcare and social technologies. At present, Adam primarily focuses on exploring the co-design of technologies to support education and socio-emotional and cognitive development in culturally diverse low-and middle-income countries. Previously, through his research, Adam developed a novel value sensitive design approach, values in motion design, to model social robots for members of the older lgbtiq+ community experiencing loneliness. He has conducted extensive research addressing the disability community and the older population, including those living with dementia, to advance equity in healthcare technology design and social service provision. Adam holds a PhD from Charles Sturt University, Australia.
