This anthology is an outcome of an interdisciplinary research project “Foundations and Space of Action of Nordic Inheritance Law: Strategies, Relations and Historical Development c. 1100–2020”. The project was headed by Professor Lars Ivar Hansen, University of Tromsø, the Artic University of Norway. It was hosted and financed by The Centre for Advanced Study at the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters in Oslo during the academic year 2014–2015. Several of the articles included in this anthology were originally presented as papers at a commencement seminar at the University of Oslo on 24 October 2014.
