This chapter investigates the concept of creative engagement within the educational learning process and its relationship with the physical environment. Memory and experience play an important role in facilitating and constructing imagination. Creative thinking cannot be taught or enhanced without touching upon the surroundings or environment of the subject. The set of activities that we propose through these workshops will take on from this very idea and build on creative and critical thinking in the participants. Understanding the need of interaction through creative means and experimentation has become crucial in the socio-political culture of recent Pakistan. We cannot ignore the fact that the country has a history of political upheavals, which has been set in the minds and emotions of children, adults, and the society; hence our focus is on inculcating creative learning in the youth and bridging the gap between cultural sectors within the society. Through these creative activities we intend to focus on making the participants aware of and contribute to the physical spaces around us that we are in contact with almost every day, and yet we tend to ignore or avoid them as spaces of communication and interaction. This overlooking or avoidance of connecting to the physical spaces develops from the fear of the unfamiliar. Our research is exploring two segments of practices; one is centred around our collaboration, and the other is based on the exercises carried out in our respective studios. It is hence proposed that the set of activities and experimentation planned for the participants will potentially develop and foster sensitivity regarding the physicality of spaces around them, instigating community interaction. The exercises will engage to explore tools to build new identities and connections of physical spaces in a social setting.
