This series explores the role of Philo of Alexandria through a range of perspectives, including philosophical, historical, exegetical, theological, and literary approaches. It publishes both monographs and essay collections focused on Philo and his cultural environment, aiming to reflect the diversity of his intellectual context. The series welcomes contributions that engage with the religious and philosophical backgrounds of the period, the major streams of thought of his time, and his relationship to the broader Greco-Roman world and the evolving traditions of Judaism during the Second Temple period. New and innovative methodological approaches are particularly encouraged.
Authors are cordially invited to submit proposals and/or full manuscripts to the publisher at BRILL, Alessandra Giliberto.
