The interdisciplinary book series explores the history and culture of Armenia in the context of its central location between Iran and Asia Minor, which led to interaction with neighboring cultures as early as ancient times. The range of topics is not limited to the historical settlement area or the Armenian highlands in West Asia, but includes the origins, development and specifics of the Armenian diaspora from the early Middle Ages to the present day. The series will encompass historical studies on the Armenian Genocide during the First World War and its representation in global cultures of remembrance. We welcome monographs and outstanding anthologies primarily from the fields of history, archaeology, cultural studies, and literary studies. Publications will be in English, French, Russian, and German, reflecting the long tradition of Armenology in Germany. Die interdisziplinäre Buchreihe versteht die Geschichte und Kultur Armeniens im Kontext seiner zentralen Lage zwischen Iran und Kleinasien, durch die es bereits in der Antike in Interaktion mit den benachbarten Kulturen kam. Das Themenspektrum beschränkt sich nicht auf den historischen Siedlungsraum bzw. das Armenische Hochland im nördlichen Vorderasien, sondern schließt die Entstehung, Entwicklung und Spezifika der armenischen Diaspora seit dem frühen Mittelalter bis zur Gegenwart ein. Studien zum Genozid an den Armeniern während des Ersten Weltkriegs und zu dessen Repräsentation in den globalen Erinnerungskulturen sollen in der Reihe ebenso vorgelegt werden. Willkommen sind Monographien und herausragende Sammelbände aus den Bereichen der Geschichtswissenschaft, Archäologie, Kultur- und Literaturwissenschaften. Publikationssprachen sind Englisch, Französisch, Russisch und nicht zuletzt Deutsch in Anknüpfung an die lange Tradition der Armenologie in Deutschland.
