The article titled “Seeing Like a Khedivate: Taxing Endowed Agricultural Land, Proofs of Ownership, and the Land Administration in Egypt, 1869” by Adam Mestyan, published in JESHO 63.5–6, contains a translation error in page 768. Al-Jabartī writes that the Ottoman army claimed ownership of land in Egypt and not that the Egyptian tax-farmers claimed such ownership. The author would like to apologize for any inconvenience.
