Abstract

This chapter discusses ways in which IF20 efforts are sustained and shaped by the capacity of the association to be self-funding. It includes a financial analysis of its operations between 2019 and 2022, which forms the basis for recommendations at the end of this chapter. Given the trend of reduced funding for international interfaith initiatives, the case study of the IF20 self-funding evolutionary process may be useful to other civil society actors struggling to survive under increasing financial constraints. This case study also contributes to research on lateral accountability in (I)NGO inter-organizational partnerships.
