Abstract

In this chapter, we review the history of how the G20 Interfaith Forum (IF20) has integrated youth leadership as represented within the ‘network of networks’ and the policy concerns associated with younger demographic populations into their process when they shadowed the G8/G7 and the G20. We pay particular attention to the history of collaboration between the IF20 and youth organizations within the network, the participation of youth representatives from the networked organizations in various IF20 committees, and the contributions youth representatives have made to IF20 engagement with the G20 from 2018 to 2023. Youth representation within the IF20 planning process contributes to policy recommendations that address a G20 process that is constituted by younger demographic populations across the G20. We conclude with discussion of why integration of youth leadership is important for SDG fulfillment and offer recommendations for the future.
