The yak fills the role of nutrition, fuel, and transportation of goods for inhabitants of this harsh environment. In fact, if nature had not created this animal, human life would be almost impossible for an extended period of time in this area of the world. Yaks are a major source the livelihood of the people living in the high altitude, cold weather parts of this planet.
