The abbreviations for most ancient authors and texts follow the Oxford Classical Dictionary (4th edition) but some (especially if the work isn’t cited in the OCD) follow LSJ and OLD.
A small number of authors and/or works are not present in any of these reference works; this is particularly the case for works from late antiquity, the early Church fathers and some medical texts. These are:
