After a very successful tenure as executive editor of Medieval Encounters â and before that a number of years serving as one of the journalâs reviews editors â Uriel Simonsohn (University of Haifa) has decided to step down. Uri has been an active, dedicated, and diligent editor, always striving to maintain the high quality and high output of the journal, and the publication has continued to thrive while he has been at the helm. We are pleased that Uri will remain involved in Medieval Encounters by joining the editorial board. We warmly thank Uri for all of his efforts on behalf of the journal and wish him well in his future professional endeavours.
This issue is therefore the first under the editorship of the new executive editor, Mònica Colominas Aparicio (ILC-CCHS / CSIC, Madrid). Mònica is already very familiar with the journal, having served as one of the two reviews editors for the last three years, and will bring a strong combination of academic breadth and sound editorial judgement to the role. We welcome Mònica and wish her the best of luck in the position.
We also take this opportunity to thank Jessie Sherwood (University of California, Berkeley) for her hard work over the last three years as the journalâs assistant editor, and welcome Veronica Menaldi as the new assistant editor. Jonathan Brack (Northwestern University) is also stepping down as reviews editor; Javier Albarrán (University of Granada) and Camille Rouxpetel (CNRS, Paris) will join as the new reviews editors.
