The Editors are happy to announce various new developments of the Journal. First of all, since its start in 2020 Contrastive Pragmatics has grown significantly, and from the current year the Journal will publish three issues annually. This increased number of issues will allow us to include more studies and hopefully we will be able to cover an even broader variety of linguacultures and range of topics.
Secondly, Contrastive Pragmatics has been accepted to be indexed by various organisations, including ERIH PLUS, Directory of Open Access Journals, Linguistic Bibliography, Norwegian Register for Scientific Journals, Scilit, Mir@bel, MLA Bibliography, Science Gate, Scopus and Open Academic Journals Index. We hope this list will be further extended over time.
Thirdly, the Journal is now formally Diamond Open Access, which means that all papers accepted for publication after a rigorous double-blind peer-review process are published in Open Access free of charge. To our knowledge Contrastive Pragmatics is currently the only fully Open Access journal in the field of pragmatics. We believe that through providing an Open Access publication opportunity the journal makes an important contribution to ethical publishing, considering that it provides an equal and fair access to high-quality academic work to readers worldwide, including readers in institutions that cannot afford subscription fees. Also, the Journal offers a free of charge copyediting opportunity for accepted contributions.
Fourthly, both the team of Editors and the Board have significantly expanded over this year. As regards the team of Editors, the Journal now has a Book Reviews Editor, a Discussion Notes Editor and an Academic Interviews Editor, as well as an Editorial Assistant and an in-house Copyeditor. We would like to warmly welcome the following colleagues who accepted to join our team in these roles: Shigeko Okamoto, Rong Chen, Meredith Marra, Puyu Ning and Judith Heaney. Our Board has also grown in size and, similar to the Editorial Team, it is inclusive in terms of competence, gender and geographical location.
We look forward for Contrastive Pragmatics to continue its growth and success.
