This paper accounts for the popularity of charismatic Anglican churches in England in the 1990s with reference to field study findings. It argues that their attraction is not merely about spiritual regeneration, but about the appeal in the 'religious marketplace' of a dynamic belief system without the need to be deeply enveloped and committed to the church belonged to.
