Concentrations of glycogen, lactate, total fat, triglycerides, glucose, and total protein were measured in the liver of Agama stellio stellio during full activity (August), the onset of the prolonged inactivity period (November), and spring arousal (early April). No seasonal variation was seen in fat, total protein, or glucose concentrations. In August, glycogen reached its lowest value. In November, the concentrations of glycogen and triglycerides reached their peak values, whereas lactate reached its lowest level. In April, the amount of glycogen was very low and lactate reached its maximum value. In April, females had significantly greater amounts of triglycerides than males.
