A small collection of 16 species of Hydrachnellae from Lake Tana, the Blue Nile and the River Takaze (northern Ethiopia) is examined. The species mainly discussed are Torrenticola, Hygrobates and in particular, Axonopsalbia (A.) curvisetifera Viets. Some zoogeographical considerations concerning the fauna of the African mountainous regions are also discussed.
